Having notions Back to the good stuff

Privacy

The short version: we take your name and email so we can tell you about nights, we guard them like a good bouncer, and we never sell them to anyone. Here's the longer version.

Who we are

Having Notions runs hosted nights out for single people in Dublin. We're the data controller for the information described on this page. Anything you want to ask or sort out, email hello@havingnotions.ie and a human will reply.

What we collect, and why

The list. When you join the list on this site, we collect your first name and email address. We use them for one thing: telling you about upcoming nights. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by signing up and can take back any time.

Tickets. Ticket sales are handled by Eventbrite, who collect your details under their own privacy policy. We receive attendee information from Eventbrite (like your name and email) and use it only to run the event you booked: things like check-in, event updates, and the follow-up we're known for.

Email. If you email us, we'll have whatever you send us. We use it to reply to you, and for nothing else.

Where it lives

Your details are stored with the services we use to run things: Brevo (email), Make (form handling), Microsoft 365 (our inbox), and Eventbrite (ticketing). Each processes data on our behalf under their own security and GDPR commitments. Some of these providers may process data outside the EEA under approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

What we never do

We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't add you to the list because you bought a ticket without asking you first. And this site sets no tracking cookies: no analytics scripts, no pixels, nothing following you around the internet afterwards.

How long we keep it

List details are kept until you unsubscribe, after which they're removed from our email tools. Event and booking records are kept as long as we need them for running events and meeting our accounting obligations, then deleted.

Your rights

Under GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we're using it. Email hello@havingnotions.ie and we'll sort it, usually well within the month the law gives us. If you're not happy with how we've handled something, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission.

Unsubscribing

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. One click and we stop. No guilt trip, no "are you sure" maze.
